My first role at Amber, in 2018, was Client Onboarding Manager; having always been in customer-facing roles, this was perfect for me. I have a keen interest in understanding how things work, problem solving, and finding efficiencies in process. Amber gave me the opportunity to get involved in the business operations side of things, and to practise skills such as process mapping and workshop facilitation. My weekly 1-2-1s with my Line Manager meant they were able to keep track of my progress, and eventually recommended me for a new role as Business Analyst, meaning I was able to progress through the business and enhance my knowledge and skills.
After starting my career in the hospitality sector, I joined Amber in 2018 with no previous experience in the energy industry. During my time here, I’ve developed my expertise through a variety of courses that have broadened my knowledge on energy markets, meaning I could progress my career in Procurement. I was able to progress from Energy Procurement Coordinator to Senior Energy Procurement Analyst as a result of the development and growth opportunities Amber have provided.
I’ve been part of the team at Amber for four years now. I started in the sales department as Internal Relationship Manager, I then progressed to finance, as Junior Business Partner, and I’m now in Digital Enablement as a Salesforce Administrator. Moving throughout the departments has allowed me to touch every part of the company and develop a great understanding of how it works. It’s meant I can expand my knowledge on a broad range of subjects and take control in my self-development journey which has always been supported by my managers and colleagues. I’m able to pick and choose what training I’d like to take part in and identify gaps in my knowledge which I can address through courses. I’ve made amazing progress in my Salesforce career, having achieved two certificates so far, with a third on the way!
