Our round up of Amberfest 2022

Over the weekend we hosted Amberfest 2022 at Out to Grass in the Malvern Hills. This is now our second time hosting Amberfest, an event we use to celebrate with our colleagues, their family, and friends, as well as partners and suppliers that contribute towards making Amber the company it is today. It’s our way of saying thank you to all those involved in Amber and is a great way to get everyone together in this new world of hybrid working.

On arrival, we were greeted with glorious sunshine which lasted throughout the weekend. Friday afternoon started off with a variety of live music, including a fun twist on your traditional Karaoke, known as ‘Bandoke’ – which many guests enjoyed as they took to the mic and enjoyed the chance to perform with a live band, singing their song of choice. Not forgetting The Panteg Pizza Company, owned by our very own finance director, Lorna Virgo, who, alongside her family, catered for us with their delicious fresh wood fired pizzas.

The second day started with a relaxing and mindful group yoga session, which was later followed by a tour of the Malvern Hills Countryside on our Woodland Walk, enjoyed by all ages, and not forgetting a surprise appearance of our Gruffalo! After a good trek we all came back to camp to enjoy some refreshing smoothies and hot drinks courtesy of Bean There, Drunk That.

After we had rested our legs and re-fuelled, we hosted our Amber Sports Day which involved all the traditional sport day style games such as Egg & Spoon Race, Sack Race, Three-legged Race, Relay Race, Bean Bag Race, and a game of Tug of War to finish.

A well-earned visit to our dessert van, Pud Puds was on the cards after competing in our Sports Day as they served some tasty ice cream-based treats to everyone. The afternoon was full of back-to-back live music from various bands that continued into the evening, with a live performance from comedian, Adam Bloom in-between. Thankfully RJS Catering were on hand for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner too which kept us well fed in-between all the activities.

On Sunday morning it was time to pack up our glamping pods and camping tents, but not before a hearty breakfast to fuel us for the journey home. We loved every minute of Amberfest, and were lucky to be joined by so many of our employees and their loved ones, as well as some amazing caterers and performers who ensured we were well fed and entertained throughout out the whole weekend.

Founder and CEO, Nick Proctor said, “I love doing this event it’s a great way to say thanks to all of our employees. I think it’s really important in this day and age to celebrate in a way that matches our culture and values and Amberfest does just that.”
